While Levain Harlem is much larger than the first store on 74th St., it maintains the original’s emphasis on the process of making. The bright, stainless steel-clad retail area frames the sensual spectacle of the working bakery beyond. Visitors are immediately confronted with the sights and smells of the baking process. A cookie elevator connects to the offices and packaging center below.
